    They're estimating that Pluto's atmosphere goes about a thousand miles up. Ours is what, about six or seven miles?

    One of the injured victims died this morning. I think I heard that he was a navy man.

    Darkness ends round two with several groups still out on the course. Play will resume Saturday morning. Play was delayed because if a massive amount of rain, and players had to deal with wind all day. Tom Watson was able to finish his round and pose for picks on Swilcan Bridge. He's done at +11. It was a nice moment as this is his last Open championship.

    CHP has allowed cars to start leaving.

    Five homes burned and some 50 are threatened.

    Yes. About 70-80 were just abandoned. CHP having trouble finding some of the owners. Apparently some people just simply ran.

    Fire has now burned 3500 acres, and 20 vehicles (plus one boat) were destroyed.

    Fwy shut down in both directions. Gonna be many, many hours before the cars are cleared from the roads. Several buildings now catching fire, also.

    Big fire on the 15 thru the Cajon Pass. Fire leaped the freeway and at least six cars have caught fire. Fortunately the cars had already been evacuated so no one was trapped inside. Tuned in late and don't know why cars had been evacuated. It's on channel 5 news right now for those interested.

    i know a lot of you wish you could be me. well, my daughter just found a radio station in france that plays only one direction 24/7. she's sitting here in the living room with her phone listening to the lads while i'm trying to watch the british open. i think i'm going to go for a drive.

    sergio does well thurs through saturday, but then he fades like cheap perfume on sunday.

    zach johnson is quickly becoming one of my favorite players to watch. had a very solid day and heads into the weekend in contention. tiger just parred #1.

    there's a huge issue here about body image for girls. being a father of a teen girl and a teacher of jr. high kids, i can tell you that a lot of girls struggle with the idea that society thinks they should all weigh 105 pounds and be thin as a model. kids come in all sizes, and if a kid is comfortable in their own skin, that's a very positive thing.

    The Yankees have retired #8 twice, for Bill Dickey and Yogi Berra. The Halos could (and should) do the same for 27.
