there was a giant amnesty plan that was discussed a few years ago (was mccain one of the sponsors?), but nothing was ever put into action. a lot of people balked at the idea of giving amnesty to 13 million illegals. there was talk of having them move to the head of the line (some phrase like that) and paying a fine plus taxes, and then being on a fast track to citizenship. honestly, i think we're at a point where we need to do something like this soon. nothing is being done, and the process is still lengthy. meanwhile, our borders are still a giant sieve.

it seems like the donald is trying to pick a fight over something he should leave alone. whether mccain was a hero or not is really in the eye of the beholder. it's not like he was audie murphy, but his years as a captive should not be treated in a dismissive way, either. picking on someone who was a POW will really galvanize people against him, which doesn't seem like it would be very many people at all. trump needs to walk away from this one immediately and move on to insulting someone else.

i'll ask again . . . the parts being sold, who's buying them and what are they being used for? are these parts that are studied for research? are these parts being transplanted into other babies? are the cells being harvested for other reasons?

i'd heard of the smiths but i hadn't heard any of their music. had the idea that they were a lot more hardcore or punk, and that's not a style i like. i'm not really much of an alternative fan, either. my brother probably likes them quite a bit. i'd rather listen to billy joel.
