    there are consumer groups that are putting this up front with the media. i'm glad to see some kind of organized groups speaking out and demanding better. it probably wouldn't hurt if we all contacted our reps in sacramento, either.

    i think republicans should make her age an issue. she's 65, which isn't ancient, but the dems tend to portray themselves as a younger, hipper party.

    yep, saw a report recently that said they were the #4 money earner in entertainment last year, making something like $130 million. they're now on their third north american tour in four years. they've also been to asia and europe a couple of times. $$$$$$$$$$$$$

    Those were interesting numbers. I figured One Direction would be quite a bit higher than 150-200k. But then, they're selling out football stadiums that hold anywhere from 50-90,000 people. Would be curious to know how much they make after expenses.

    i always get a kick out of any of his statements that talk about his greatness: "I'm leading in all the major polls, which shows that I'm right in what I'm saying" kind of statements. he's made a ton of them.

    i don't disagree with you. right now i'm watching a show about people who are flipping a house. i occasionally also like to watch shows about people who are trying to buy a house.

    we call for more unity, but we seem to be becoming more and more divided.

    saw a meme once that fits in with the direction this thread has turned. looked for it but couldn't find it. it said essentially that why is it easy for people to accept that two cells colliding randomly in space is life, but a sperm and an egg uniting isn't? yes, i know it's tilted towards one perspective. thought it was an interesting observation.

    glad you watched, cez. i watched serena's match, the one before she played venus, and she looked disinterested, like her head really wasn't in the game at all. i thought she was lucky to win that one.

    she doesn't meet enough stereotypes for me. i was sitting in the nice comfy outside chairs between the theaters and the improv and could see the video marquee. didn't recognize a single name.

    i smelled a lot of paco rabanne and gun powder last night. glad i left when i did.

    jurassic world and self/less. i missed the first half hour of jurassic world and it made absolutely no difference. didn't feel like i'd missed anything. self/less was a lot more interesting.
