  1. there's a really good sandwich shop in st. helena (napa valley) named Guigni's. best sandwiches i've ever had. not sure it would qualify for an all you can eat pig out before you hit the electric chair kind of meal, but their sandwiches are amazing.
  2. you know, my two gay friends talked us in to going to a brazilian steak house after church one time. they're both vegetarians too. it was the biggest waste of $30 for a meal (times 3 for our family) that i've ever experienced. there's just no way to eat that much jello and cole slaw and feel like you got a great deal. needless to say we haven't been back. i like the concept of the brazilian place but i thought the pricing for not getting any meat was ridiculous.
  3. there's a really good hot dog place in pasadena called Dog Haus. if you haven't been there, you need to plan a trip. lots of choices or you can select your own toppings. i like the cowboy. it comes with white american cheese, fried crispy onions, and bbq sauce. for the bun they use kings hawaiian rolls. excellent meal. they also have tator tots instead of fries. going to pinks is on my list. sounds like i need to visit portillo's also.
  4. let's add buttermilk pancakes to this list before we completely toss out this vile liquid.
  5. that's pretty much stickboy's dilemna for every decision he faces.
  6. have you ever eaten at tony luke's in philly? how was it? i saw on his menu that he offers a veggie & cheese sandwich.
  7. Local news telling us when a Forrest fire has actually been put out. Those smug news readers never, ever mention it
  8. We've been watching Penn & Teller Fool Us on Monday nights. They have four or five magicians perform in front of P&T and an audience, trying to trick the two professional magicians. P&T usually know the tricks, but a few times they've been fooled. If you like great magic tricks, you need to watch this. Haven't seen anything even marginally bad yet, and that includes a 13 year old who performed great card tricks tonight. Fun show!
  9. no one has mentioned a philly cheesesteak yet. on tv, they look absolutely amazing to me. peppers, onions, and provolone, great bread - yum.
  10. LOL. good ol' lyle and man-crush are still alive and well.
  11. boy, whoever puts these things together and throws them all over Facebook really banks on people not being able to take 30 seconds and check a calendar. the last time it happened on a friday was in 2008.
  12. i'd ask my wife to cook our regular thanksgiving meal. mashed potatoes with gravy dressing sweet potatoes/yams (not the kind that are baked with those stupid little marshmallows - this is a can of yams cooked with butter, oranges, and brown sugar, more like a dessert than a side dish) meat loaf acorn squash kings hawaiian dinner rolls martinelli's apple grape sparkling cider pear crisp with a big huge glob of vanilla ice cream for dessert if not that, then there's this sensational veggie calzone at a place in pasadena called big mama's brick oven ny pizza. they also have garlic puffs. if we're going for just a buttload of empty calories, then grilled cheese from INO, fries from mcdonalds, and a huge mountain dew from taco bell.
  13. i wonder what kind of manager josh paul would make.
  14. we all have our own cars, that's why.
  15. he was so intense as a player. i can't really see that translating well as a manager of a major league team. see Gibson, Kirk
