it's a dirty slide and should have been called so immediately by the ump, who i assume has some discretionary power out there. tejada, whether or not he should have, put himself in a position where he couldn't defend himself. Uttley has every right to break up the double play, but this slide happened about one foot before he hit the base, and that makes his intent more than just breaking up the DP. this is a dangerous slide that will continue to result in more players being injured, and that's why it needs to be outlawed immediately. if Uttley isn't suspended for this, and he should be, i imagine he's going to be hit pretty regularly by mets pitchers for the rest of the series.

last night was the first time i had watched their baseball coverage. i have no plans to watch them again. there wasn't anything interesting or insightful from any of them. i have MLB and i'll stick with them. the main sports anchors on FS1 are beyond horrible. i can't stand watching them. i'll go 8-12 months without watching them, hoping they've improved or changed to new guys, but nothing is any different. my goodness, i don't know how anyone can stomach them for anything beyond 15 seconds. they have the maturity of seventh graders.

i caught part of their "report" last night. wow. as much as we all make fun of espn for being a bunch of clowns, dorks, and homers, the FS1 guys dig deep and are about a zillion times worse.

rose the player was ideal. rose since then has been nothing but total douche-baggery-ousness. there's a sports memorabilia auction sight i frequent and they're selling all kinds of interesting things. one of them that's up for auction each week is a pete rose signed baseball that says "i'm sorry i bet on baseball." one of the greatest players ever has become a completely laughable caricature.
