  1. nice work by the bears to lose today to the niners.
  2. solid game yesterday. lucic fitting in nicely. keep it up against the bolts tonight, boys.
  3. yep. at this point in his career, i'd think he'd want a championship a whole lot more. signing with arizona says he wants the money, not the ring. that to me smells of being a whore for the money.
  4. a friend of mine feels that these are the contracts that really screw up the system for everyone else. throwing gobs of money at mediocre players raises the bar for everyone.
  5. unless you know your neighbors habits pretty well, how do you know when something is out of the ordinary? in glendale, armenians come over to visit and stay all kinds of late. they look middle eastern. this policy isn't going to work very well where i live, plus the fact i don't really know my neighbors, and i'm guessing i'm not alone here on that.
  6. from the episode titled "burning down the house."
  7. i'm wondering why the cop believed he had probably cause to search you or your car. had you been smoking or drinking? you did the right thing by complying. i wonder what your legal options are and if they would be worth pursuing.
  8. i think there was both an increase in uniting the country but also a growth of personal fear. we've also had a couple of scenarios come together: the concern of a terrorist attack on our soil, plus the fear of a madman carrying out a massive shooting (school, mall, game, etc.). An awful lot of people seem to think that the best defense is for all of us to be strapped so we can respond accordingly, which is going to bring about it's own set of issues and problems. combine these with a growing distrust of police, the blm, and the beliefs of the SJWs, and there's the potential for something really, really big and ugly to happen, maybe multiple times. anyone know where i can reynolds wrap in bulk?
  9. can we still blame the schizophrenia ad?
  10. i think the biggest failure of gun control is that we don't have a very effective list of rules. seems like that should be fixed, and i think it ought to include a national set of rules, not just state by state.
  11. yikes, they're going to have as many options as the oregon ducks football team. i like the texture in the hats.
  12. anyone else think this guy is just a whore chasing the money?
  13. spectre - B+ well done bond film. moved a bit sluggishly in a few places, but the story was good and christoph waltz is such a fun actor to watch, even when he's horribly disfigured. the 'big brother' aspect of the film is fascinating. wonder if we'd ever put such a universal plan together as the movie suggests.
  14. understand completely. i'm not necessarily advocating "hey, i won't go there" (okay, maybe i did with the rose parade but that's for a variety of reasons, including safety), but mostly just thinking about big targets where security isn't very strong. the grandstands of the rose parade would be one of those places. as someone else said, 9/11 really united us instead of causing us to fear. that speaks a lot to our resilience and our attitude about screwing with us. i think recent attacks are helping to continue to unite us. my awareness is heightened when i go out these days. i'm suddenly a lot more aware of all the muslims at the apple store.
  15. Talking with my wife tonight about this. Disneyland came up, but it'd be tough to do something inside the park unless maybe you were wearing a suicide vest. Setting that off during one of the parades would make Paris look like a minor event. They could also do a lot of damage in Downtown Disney, especially on a weekend or during the fireworks. I think I'd also avoid the rose parade this year.
  16. while i won't try to dispute your assertion about gun violence prior to video games, i wonder if the age at which kids resort to using guns to solve conflicts has stayed the same or dropped to younger and younger ages. i'm guessing the latter in this day and age.
