Let's cover this again, grasshopper. The primary system exists to reduce the number of candidates in the field prior to the party conventions and the general election. You can't make it wide open at this time because of how the system is set up. You'd need a major overhaul of the entire system. And it was John Adams who strongly advised against having political parties.
