i think there's a difference in how much perceived power they actually have (especially when you factor in all of the EC votes in california that never really seem to be up for discussion) versus how the media tends to report on how the vote is going in the swing states. on the surface, penn, florida, and michigan have no more power than any other state, and certainly not as much as CA, NY, or TX.

can't disagree with you, blarg. their offense is boring as can be. they haven't figured out a way to open running lanes for gurley, and their play calling is horrendous. i like kenny britt and wish they'd utilize his size more often. but he'll be even more effective if they can get the running game going.

he's a complete outsider to the washington process. why surround himself with people he doesn't know or trust yet to help with the transition? how many other president-elects have done the same thing he's doing? i'd guess it's nearly all of them, with few exceptions.
