  1. glad you shared this insight about him. there's no legit reason to think that an owner who has invested billions into a project would want to see any kind of sustained success from that project, you know, the kind of success that generates a profit and gets more and more people interested in the product he's created.
  2. it was in the story about his death. i wouldn't have known about it otherwise. my level of concern about this? zero.
  3. idiotic stereotyping, the exact same thing they want others to stop doing about people of color.
  4. Oliver, a well-known socialite in L.A., was one of several adult men who bought their royal titles from von Anhalt through adoption. Von Anhalt, formerly known as Hans Georg Robert Lichtenberg, changed his own name after paying Princess Marie-Auguste of Anhalt to adopt him as an adult. According to the Associated Press, von Anhalt acknowledged making millions of dollars by passing the family title to at least 10 other people. “If someone offers you $2 million, you do it,” von Anhalt reportedly said.
  5. if you bring your own glasses, do you still get charged extra to see the movie?
  6. hmm, help remind you to set your roster each week and perhaps beat us, or let you do whatever, including forgetting occasionally, which allows us to win. boy, this is a pickle.
  7. much better than your first attempt:
  8. bummer. lived a very hard and often difficult life.
  9. i don't mind at all the campaign to stand up to cancer. always good to raise awareness for something as deadly as cancer. would like to see more emphasis on asking people to donate money. i would prefer they do this before the game starts, not in the middle of it.
  10. sounds like the fun usually found at a quincinera or a wake. glad to see everyone was in the holiday spirit.
  11. I can hardly wait to see this painted on top of the dugouts this coming season!
  12. define valuable. that's where all of this gets muddy. valuable does not necessarily mean most talented or best stats, and that's why there's always a lot of disagreement about the award. the aaron award is given to the best player, but at this point it's nowhere near the MVP in importance. you can argue that a team's place in the standings is irrelevant, but it seems to me that someone who is 'most valuable' is going to make his team better and the players around him better. that ought to count for something in this discussion.
  13. WTG, Chicago! you're #1, you're #1!! I don't imagine it'll be too much longer until people in the windy city will need to dress like this go to some areas:
  14. "Hail, Caesar (this movie got so much better on a re-watch)" This movie was a complete disappointment and bore to me. I have no intention of watching it again. Hi Blarg!
  15. For parking so crooked I would have expected to see a Hillary bumper sticker.
  16. i'll agree that the working definition for MVP has turned instead into "who's the best player in the league?", and i think there's a good discussion to be had about who contributes more to their teams' success. on this board, however, that discussion isn't the one you ended up having.
