  5. mcdavid's speed is pretty impressive. got to see him a couple of months ago when the oilers were in town, and my goodness, the boy can fly.
  6. in the movie apollo 13 there was a very touching scene. tom hanks goes in to tell his son about the death of his three friends in the apollo 1 fire. the son asks why they died and hanks tells him it's because the door couldn't be opened from the inside. months later, when apollo 13 has their accident, the mom goes in to tell the son that his dad was in an accident in space. the boy looks at the mom and says, "was it the door?" i just about lost it the first time i saw that scene.
  7. if you came up to glendale right now there would be plenty of people who take a sniff of you and ask "who's the lightweight from orange county? smells like he only used half a bottle of cologne. bwahahahaha!!"

  9. you'd have loved my closet in the 70s. combination of cool surfer dude with a touch of urban white disco stud.
  10. bro, that is EXACTLY what you'll get at my house. i hate mayo so mrs. tank goes easy on it. she also adds mustard, always has. you can have your choice of dill or sweet pickles or none, and olives or none. however, there will be no white bread in the house. it's wheat only. i hope that's not a deal breaker.
  11. that's a serious amount of honkey you got going, amigo.
  12. in the 60s and 70s, when we started watching, wrestling was a pretty regional thing. it exploded in the 80s to become a national thing, and the WWF and the others emerged as powerhouses. we used to watch wrestling from the olympic auditorium in LA. to me, that place was huge. used to watch freddie blassie, john "the golden greek" tolos, bobo brazil, mil mascaras, and others there. even went to a few matches there with my dad, who was such a big fan he wrote a song for freddie blassie. he always thought it was on the up-and-up, too.
  13. in the early days i used to confuse her with jobeth williams for some reason. wasn't really attracted to either of them.
  14. i used to be able to dance like that.
  15. in fairness, he's not creating new law. this is a 90 day hold, not a permanent solution.
  16. oh yeah? come over to my house. we're having egg salad sandwiches. that should get your engine revved up!
  17. i think it was @nate that advocated a complete ban on immigration for what, 18 months, until they could figure out a few things. trump wants to halt it only from certain countries for 90 days and the morons who think blocking traffic is a good idea are not blocking LAX in protest. somewhere in our collection thinking and wisdom we need to come to the understanding of how to address this. some advocate for the acceptance of all refugees, no matter where they come from, while others don't want any refugees at all. isn't there a position somewhere in the middle that is both smart & safe for our country while also being compassionate to those that really need our help? why is the argument always presented as all or none? that, IMHO, is the biggest roadblock to any real progress being achieved.
