Yeah, I understand you well, Blarg. Got a nice deal on the ProV1x at Golfsmith last month and jumped on it, hearing all these wonderful things. They were good, but my level of play right now is t making the most of what they offer. i liked the Chrome Soft because it just simply felt better coming off each club, especially my putter. I'm going to buy a box of them next time I'm ready to purchase new ones.

i'm with MT also. there are plenty of reasons to get upset with sosh, but this isn't one of them. whether he pitches game 1, 2, or 3 is like worrying about whether or not bill gates can pay for dinner.

things continue to go the right direction for my weight loss. am down another 1.4 lbs. this week, bringing my overall total to 152.6. this comes at the end of two weeks of spring break where my daily activity has slowed down a bit, though i did play golf this week and did a lot of walking at a couple of museums. back to work next week where i'll keep playing some lunchtime hockey. also, my roller blades arrived and i'll strap them on next week and see what we can do. it's been about 30 years since i last skated, so this will be a bit of an adventure, hopefully one that doesn't involve any broken bones.

Yeah, I'm intrigued by the balata. Had a dozen of them 20 years ago and really enjoyed playing with them on a par 3 course near my house. I could back them up like they were on a string - of course, that was when I was playing a lot and before @Adam jacked my clubs.

Thnx for the advice, GB. The pro shop at El Cariso was selling the Chrome for $39.95 for a dozen. Don't know what Golfsmith is selling them for and haven't checked eBay yet, but I'll keep a lookout for them both. He said they also have another ball from Calloway that the pro shop guy liked better because it was easier for him to work the ball right or left. Also, they occasionally get some Balata balls, and if you haven't played them yet, they are fantastic for your short game or putting. The Chrome had a nice soft feel, yet my distance with my irons was good though I'm not sure my woods were quite as long.

Played at El Cariso yesterday and shot a 91. This is a nice little executive 18 in Sylmar that doesn't have any par 5s, and it's a great place to work on your game. Driving was okay, putting wasn't as good as last time, chipping was really hit-and-miss, but iron play was improved, especially my 5 iron, which is my least favorite club in the bag. I think I need to take a protein bar with me when I play as I again reached a point on the back nine where I felt worn out. Had a sleeve of the new Calloway Chrome balls and really liked them. Unfortunately I put two in the water and hit one over a fence into neverland, but I think I'll probably invest in a box of them. I liked the feel of them better than the ProV1x.

Sacramento is an old Algonquin word that means "filled with idiots and morons." Taking more of our money to fix a problem that won't get fixed. Why aren't our current gas taxes fixing our road problems? Oh, That's right, because that money keeps getting misused by the buttheads in Sacramento. So instead of fixing the problem, they're wanting to take more of our money to throw at it. The silver lining in this is that they need a 2/3 majority to pass this through the legislature since it includes a constitutional amendment. That may be a tough mark to reach.
