red, i had the thurs-sun deal for maybe five years but finally pulled the plug on that mostly because i no longer found their paper interesting enough to read (i've always detested their sports section and the heroically awful way they cover hockey and the angels). cancelled a few years ago and haven't missed it at all. your exchange with their phone person was awesome. "here's less days for more money than you're already paying, but it's less than the deal you're not even receiving. isn't that great news!?!"

can't begin to thank you and your team enough for the work you do. your profession is under the radar these days and the negative stuff dominates the news, but there is so much good that you and your mates do, and i wanted you to know that it's appreciated by so many of us. p.s. cronuts suck. you need chocolate covered bavarian cream (and you have to eat one in my honor).

Yay, progress!

After a stressful day trying to figure out how we could get junior to a safer location, considering all kinds of options both reasonable and slightly less reasonable, I got home. Much to my surprise, there she was sitting in my chair! She found a friend driving home last night and hitched a ride, unbeknownst to us. Got home at 5:30 this morning and stayed with grandma so she could surprise us. She completely succeeded. We are greatly relieved she's safe and that she's here until Sunday, assuming classes actually resume Monday. next up, a pointed discussion on when to surprise your parents, and when not to.
