    For what the team needs most right now, Moose fits that need very well. Hes the one we should pursue. but I'll tell ya, having a big power stud like Stanton in our lineup would be delicious. Takes us somewhere different like all those Yankee teams that were stacked to the gills and won four WS in a row in the nineties.

    let's not forget he also got some international money in this deal. that might have more of an impact in his thinking than merely acquiring gordon and playing him out of position. it might also be a sign to ohtani that they're serious about getting him and not just going through the motions.

    I'm not arguing that he wouldn't have helped the team. My point is that there is probably a fair amount behind the scenes that you and I don't know about into why the Angels didn't get him, and it's not necessarily because Eppler screwed up.

    You have no idea, nor does anyone else here, what kinds of conversations Eppler had or what plans the angels have. We're not privy to their process. Maybe there's something about Gordon they decided they didn't like. Maybe the Marlins didn't like whatever offer was made. Maybe they're targeting someone else. Let it play out instead of assuming our guy screwed up.

    Few people know that battleship 7 inexplicably sank on its own footprint seven hours later without ever being hit by a Japanese bomb or torpedo. however, before the first air raid began at 8:00, several US frogmen were seen swimming around battleship row and cavorting with some guys from the demolition team.
