  1. another theory would be that having an extra day of rest means their arm isn't as taxed and they can go longer in each start. that can save the bullpen arms a bit, too. i imagine april-june will be filled with lots of experiments on finding the right/best approach to this. there really isn't any kind of blueprint for this, at least not right now.
  2. i think richards would benefit from a six man rotation as much as anyone, maybe more, given his injury history. i think it's also important to remember that the success of the team comes first, not individual stats. anyone who doesn't get that is going to have a difficult time with management.
  3. i imagine we'll see some crazy variations and experiments during spring training.
  4. the orioles had a four man rotation in the early 70s, and each of them won 20 games one year (dobson, mcnally, cuellar, and palmer).
  5. my daughter was successful in passing her test for her learner's permit today. this was her second try and she passed easily. she was so excited to drive that we went over to the rose bowl parking lot (after a quick trip to AAA to get her added to our insurance) and let her drive around in the parking lots for an hour, practicing turns, parking, and using the brakes correctly. she has a long way to go to be confident enough to jump into traffic, but she got off to a good start today. looks like we'll be taking her driving each day for the rest of her Christmas break. she's a funny kid sometimes. her permit expires at the end of april because she dragged her butt in getting her permit, so on the way home today she said "i want to practice every day and then take my test for my license at the end of next week." uh, no, that won't happen, sweetheart. you're going to need a lot more experience than a few days in a parking lot before you're ready to take on the DMV. btw, the glendale DMV looks like a cross between the free clinic, a greyhound bus terminal, and central booking at rykers island. i half expected to see victor's mom doling out handy's in the parking lot.
  6. started watching parks & rec via hulu on our apple tv. saw the first three episodes and it looks promising.
  7. i liked rogue one because it was a bridge story and was done pretty well. it centers around the plans for the death star.
  8. so how can i watch amazon prime through my apple tv?
  9. yes, go see it. this part of the trilogy is not nearly as good as episodes 4-6, and not nearly as awful as episodes 1-3. the special effects continue to improve but it has its' flaws.
  10. do we really want the yukuza joining the angels? color me skeptical.
  11. dipoto would have been a stupid calvin klein.
  12. man, this was one of those deals where it would've been nice if doc brown would've let us fire up the delorean . . .
  13. they probably have the same popcorn and nachos from then.
  14. we've been listening to music off of my computer this afternoon/evening. kind of nice, especially since i didn't have to do anything - it just showed up. the only things that i don't like are that it won't show my playlists and it only seems to list music i've purchased from iTunes, ignoring any CDs i've downloaded. any ways around that?
  15. yeah, i was expecting peyts to run into the room with mommy's magic wand wondering why it had an on/off switch.
  16. Paul stressed that maulings are usually a result of pent-up energy, and not the breed itself. “There is a lot of speculation...but you can’t blame the breed,” Paul said. oh, okay. so they're as safe as irish setters and cockapoos.
