  1. with only 34 golfers in the field, it's a good way to start the year. january and february are pretty tough because of all the new guys playing, the studs who don't play, and the unpredictability of who's going to rise or fall. the one thing we can all agree on (thank goodness): pat perez is a stud.
  2. i agree. we've had several women on the supreme court and many more have served in congress. and by served i mean they've been as unethical as the men they work side by side with.
  3. buddy of mine started using a VPN when he lived in China mostly so he could watch st. louis cardinals and blues games. he swears by it. he's not back in the states but i don't know if he's still using it. i'll ask him and then forget to respond to you here, if that's okay.
  4. Dustin Johnson is kicking tail at Kapalua. Just hit a drive on a par 4 that left him with a 6 inch putt for eagle. i'm firmly convinced my mojo rubbed off on him from when i was hitting putts on THE VERY SAME PRACTICE GREEN HE USED when i visited there in August. You're welcome, DJ. With a win today, that'll give him at least one win in 11 consecutive years.Tiger won in 14 straight years, while Jack won at least once 17 consecutive years.
  5. buddy, i think that bridge was forever crossed when you posted the picture of you and your dog.
  6. YuGrOh You grow, we grow, we all grow when you grow.
  7. bummer, blargy. but you know what tim allen always said?
  8. wow. that's a ridiculous contract. i hope they continue to suck swamp water.
  9. they made the playoffs at least one season earlier than i thought they would, so on the surface i'm not upset at all. this season was a great year of growth as a franchise and for many individual players, especially goff. they certainly picked the right guy to be coach. at the very least, they gained a lot of valuable playoff experience last night. the future looks good for them.
  10. interesting that they've ventured into the food business with the purchase of whole foods. taking over target would be a continuation of taking down walmart.
  11. time to bust out the flip flops and cargo shorts!
  12. at least you know where those vehicles will be for the next three months.
  13. thank you, gentlemen. she got in the car with her friend and drove off without incident this morning. we've told her to call/text us as much as she needs to. we're planning to drive up there next weekend for the long weekend to spend time with her in her element. we'll probably try to go somewhere like santa rosa and find something to do (napa tends to be awfully crowded on the weekends). as for the roommate situation, she's choosing not to have one as of this morning, but she's going to talk to the dean when arrives later today. one of the things i emphasized with her last night is that it takes time to get to know people. acquaintances will turn into friends over time. having only been there one quarter, there's still a good deal of time for this to happen. she's a sweet enough kid, and over time others will discover that about her. i also suggested she try to get involved in a club or two. we'll see how that plays out.
  14. i hope a better fate awaits your cock than did for your hair.
  15. Downsizing = B this was a movie that didn't go at all where you expected it to. it was very different than anticipated. it had a couple of funny moments in it but it wasn't a comedy, which might have been the easy way out. there were a lot of symbols about modern life, and i imagine a lot more could be unpacked from this movie is discussion groups for sociology, religion, philosophy, or psychology classes on campuses everywhere. it wasn't nearly as heavy on the special effects as you might think or standard gag lines/jokes as you might think. overall, my brother and i enjoyed it. interested in your thoughts on this one, @Sam Sanchez.
  16. the news was saying there were going to be some places this weekend that would be colder than Mars.
  17. got hit with a bombshell last night - junior doesn't want to return to college. a lot of things were unloaded suddenly. last thursday she found out her roommate isn't returning, so that began a big email exchange with the girls' dean about a possible replacement. she gave junior a list but she didn't really know/like any of the girls on the list. finally picked one she thought she could tolerate and emailed her on friday, but as of late last night, no reply. last night she just came unglued. turns out she's been homesick a ton but has masked it pretty well. she's not having near the social or spiritual experience she was anticipating and can't seem to figure out what to do next. we talked at length with her about stepping outside of what's comfortable and trying new things. said she's done that but everyone seems to have their unexpandable circle of friends, and she doesn't really have that. she's tried meeting new people but everyone is merely an acquaintance, and she hasn't figured out how to break through that. there were a lot of tears shed last night. we also talked about possibly changing schools so she's closer to home, but the junior colleges have already started this quarter/semester, and the next closest adventist college doesn't offer her major. on top of all that, she's sick, and that just makes everything worse for her. i don't think this would have been as difficult if her roommate was staying put. any advice out there for her?
  18. please post some of them. i love soup and can modify most of them to fit my diet.
  19. fantastic! let the kid decide for itself!
