upton, if he reaches 500/1600, will be interesting to watch. i can't really think of any season where he has really shined statistically (i could be wrong because i haven't really watched his career very intensely).

has anyone been watching homeland this season? we stopped watching a couple of years ago after the stuff in berlin. wondering if it's gotten better or worse since then.

haven't had a chance to check yet, but the radio this morning was saying that trumpy promised an announcement about the border today via twitter and no one really knew what it was going to be (they were saying it might be related to his declaration to move troops there but they were really just guessing).

obviously trout and pujols (and once pujols reaches 3000 hits, that should settle it for those of you on board the 'inner circle' nonsense, whatever that means). simmons has a shot. if ozzie made it purely because of his defense, than simmons has a legit shot. it should be fun to watch ohtani over his career. if his start this first week is going to become par for him, it should be great to watch him play. good enough to be in the hall? no idea.

i think there are two cities that have voted not to be sanctuary cities (or whatever the correct terminology is for this) so far. i expect there will be more, and i applaud them.

it's pretty unusual to hear about a team moving a player to a different position (at least it has been for me). to see that they've done it to two different players in the last ten days has got to be pretty rare.

for those wondering about the extended netting . . . . . . i sat behind the visitors dugout for the final two innings monday night, row 3. the netting was noticeable at first, but disappeared pretty quickly. it wasn't a bother whatsoever.

i was privileged to be on the field monday night holding the gigantic US flag (thanks again @OHTANILAND!). I specifically wanted to see what the wall in RF looked like since the last thing i saw were those goofy nets and posts sticking out before the season. Since i haven't seen it mentioned here today i'm guessing all of you knew before i did that the angels trolled us pretty good on that. they also built out the RF wall by about a foot so there's pretty clear demarcation above the yellow line. so far it seems to have worked well. p.s. if you get a chance to be a flag holder on the field for the anthem, you need to do it at least once. it was pretty cool being down there during player introductions and feeling the crowd. p.s.s @tdawg87, 'feeling the crowd' doesn't mean what you think it means. sorry, dude.
