    i was in manhattan beach sunday and saw a flyover by a squadron of WWII planes, perhaps corsairs. was figuring they were filming a tv show or movie. flew in a nice, tight formation and looked very impressive.

    then that should be the exact reason for a Fire Eppler thread. The manager can only manage the players given to him by the gm. He is not responsible for the myriad of things that too many here want to dump on his doorstep. assigning blame to the manager because pitchers get injured or the right fielder isn't hitting his IQ is misplaced.

    it's interesting that lasorda feels so positive about sosh because his public comments at times have been very vitriolic to the angels having any success. i was at the hollywood bowl once and it was dodgers night. lasorda came out and sounded like a braying jackass, taking clear shots at the angels and the former dodgers working for them.

    i feel really awesome that it only took me two days and half a dozen posts from you guys for me to finally see it.

    true story - we had a student here in the mid-90s whose mom was an actress (not anyone known as she was taking pretty much any bit part she could find). our maintainance man was watching something on cinemax (redshoe diaries perhaps??) and low and behold, there's mrs. xxx in all her glory. he taped it and it was viewed in the principals office by a few of us. i never quite looked at that mom the same after that.
