didn't cozart start off as our leadoff hitter this year? i don't know if the sample size was big enough or if he's done it in cincy with success, but my recollection is that he didn't do well at it here. i'd be okay with calhoun continuing at leadoff or even trying fletcher there for the rest of the year and see what happens. maybe i need to have (another) lunch with sosh to talk it over. man, can that guy put away some breadsticks!

in another thread someone else suggested ohtani be a two inning reliever in the 6th and 7th. i don't like that idea because once he's removed from the mound, wouldn't he also are removed as DH? none of these are perfect scenarios and each will have it's complications to work through, so it just may be best that he continues to be a starting pitcher if that's what he chooses to do.

it's pretty clear that the requirements to become a cake decorator are often rather low.

my guess is that they remove all the artifacts now to preserve their history (it's a fascinating story) and to prevent tomb raiders from stealing and possibly destroying important historic artifacts in the interests of making money. yes, egypt and others are making money off of these tomb tours, but the artifacts are at least being preserved this way instead of being destroyed or lost or melted down. humans don't have a very good track record at protecting a lot of things (see the current alarming crisis of elephant tusks or decreasing tiger populations for example).
