    he rolled over his ankle last night, so i fully expect he'll need TJ surgery next year if he signs with the halos. if he signs elsewhere, cy young.

    i can't stand the red sox because their fans are so insufferable to be around. i can tolerate the dodgers winning (it'd be good for the local area though i'd have to put with a lot of crap from people) though i wouldn't be happy about it. i'd rather see a houston-milwaukee WS.

    if any team moves to vegas, it'll be oakland. hands down they have the worst stadium in professional sports.

    i think you could say this about a lot of stadiums. i went to a white sox game with @calscuf this summer. beautiful ballpark located right in the middle of big gigantic craphole of a neighborhood. not an area where i'd want to take a leisurely stroll.

    used to love the thomas bros. guide. one of the guys i sing with has a tough time trusting the GPS on his phone, so before we go on a driving trip to sing, he'll stop by AAA to get as many maps of the area as he can (not a bad idea, really) and map out directions and locations of concerts and hotels. we've taken to calling him "thomas" because of it.

    ken rosenthal just said something about manny is a great player but everybody's talking about him for the wrong reasons (meaning all the stupid things he does). Lou and I agree.

    if the dogs get back to the WS, i foresee a pivotal moment in one of the games where machado will be nicely framed against the backdrop of a gulf oil sign flailing helplessly at a ball he should have caught.

    Just for giggles, I met with Eppler yesterday and took his little test. The first question was "If an electric train leaves Chicago going south at 60 mph, and a second electric train leaves New York going west at 80 mph, which way does the smoke from the smokestack blow?" I slammed down my #2 pencil, called Eppler a hipster doofus, and walked out with dignity intact. When I become GM, we'll do things a bit differently, trust me.
