    I was hoping for someone new like Espada but I'm willing to trust their process. If he loses the clubhouse, that'll be a problem. If Trout signs an extension partially because he likes playing for him/the team is succeeding, that'll be great.

    Someone else may have mentioned it already but Altuve had knee surgery yesterday. Should be ready to go by spring training.

    Yeah, I don't know how you lose to . . . Purdue of all people. The defense has been sloppy this year, giving up too many points, and yesterday they paid the price.

    @Inside Pitch can speak better to this point than i about the value of being called 'los angeles angels' but i know that it helped with bringing in more money for the tv deal. if they can still get that kind of cable deal money without being called los angeles, i don't really care - call them by whatever city name you like.

    i'd probably feel the same as you YK if they were validating each other over this topic daily and weekly. but once a year? meh, not a big deal. this was the first time i've heard of a 'rainbow baby.' you could certainly take issue with that.

    requirements for a moving: major freeway access from several directions and plenty of space to build a parking lot that frank mccourt can't get his hands on. it also needs to be within shouting distance of LA since that's the name of the team.

    the first thing i thought of at this suggestion was the difficulty of trying to get into long beach for a game. the traffic is already insane because it's where all of the international shipping comes in. adding a major sporting event with 30K+ people into the mix would be a way to keep a lot of people home, especially with there only being one freeway in and out (hi nate!) of the city.

    every time i go to an angels game and there are more chowd fans than angels fan in the park. they've become as intolerable as yankees fans, only drunker. no thanks.
