i've been kinda figuring they'd be somewhat sympathetic to GRich while he's rehabbing. in fact, i thought it was a requirement of the CBA (apparently, for the first time in a very long time, i was wrong) that a player in his position couldn't be released or DFA'd, but i didn't realized they could declare free agency. i'm perfectly okay to let richards rehab somewhere else.

in the era of the closer and heavy bullpen use, it's easy to see why it hasn't happened since WWII. Anyone know when the last complete game in the WS was? I'm guessing it might have been Jack Morris in game 7 in 92 or 93.

i must be missing something from your perspective on this. they set a franchise record with 108 wins, then blew through the playoffs with relative ease. what am i missing?

if roberts is controlled by people in the front office who tell every move to make, how do you think that's going to go over with someone as independent (and possibly as headstrong) as scioscia? does he seem like the kind of guy to you who won't run his own program? honestly, the continued dialogue of sosh being a dodger in angels clothing has run it's course. it's very, very tired course.

they had the best record in baseball for this season. they also had the best spring training record last march (fwiw, and it's not worth much, merely an observation). they've been good all year long, flop.

does roberts survive this? if the higher ups are the ones pulling his strings, it hardly seems fair or right to make him the fall guy for their decisions when they don't work. kershaw said he's got three days to make a decision. nothing to report tonight. bellinger needs to learn to hit lefties in october. ignoring his NLCS MVP, he's been awful in two playoff seasons. the dodgers have a lot of talent, but there's something missing. no idea what it is but if they want to win, they need to figure it out.

During the WS, local reporters are absolute clowns. Their amount of knowledge about baseball, let alone the Dodgers, could fit in a thimble, and their homerism is completely off the charts. I don't know how you'd measure, but I'm certain it'd set some kind of record for collective ignorance.

They went to pretty strong lengths on the broadcast to show that Hill and Roberts didn't talk on the mound - Hill didn't even know Roberts was there until he saw his infielders walking to the mound. Hill just turned and gave him the ball and told reporters he did that because any time Roberts came out to see him it was to remove him. They had talked during the sixth inning when Hill told him to keep an eye on him. Never said he was tired apparently.

at spring training in 2011, our family was there. someone hit a foul ball that ebel fielding in the coaches box. he then looked up in the stands and signaled towards me and tossed me the ball. i thought "hey, that was pretty nice of him." waved to say thanks but before i could, he motioned to my right where some kid had just appeared out of the blue. i gave the ball to the kid and realized that ebel was just using me. i hope he never manages in anaheim ever.

there's also a proposition on the ballot that would give our state legislature the authority to do away with daylight savings time. I'm voting in favor of that as i don't see any advantage to having DST any more.

we are 9 days from the election and i have yet to see any kind of ads for John Cox, Republican Gov. candidate. Not quite sure of his strategy, and i'm not an advertising expert, but this doesn't seem like an effective strategy.
