    Entering the season the Angels needed everything to go their way if they were to have a good year. As we all know everything went bad and we've been left with a team whose pitching staff has been devastated. I can't imagine many teams could survive whats happened to the Angels.

    Pitch counts seem to rule these days and Scioscia would be questioned if he had left Shoe in for the seventh and he gave up the lead or got hurt. In fact he wouldn't just be questioned, he'd be skewered on these pages for days if not longer.

    The team has problems but the bullpen is killing us and is very reminiscent of the Arson Squad of the past.

    Shoemaker = zero runs in 6 innings. Bullpen = 4 runs in 3 innings. The pen just snatched a loss from the jaws of victory.
