  1. I wouldn't sign him to an extension either not because I think he's bad, in fact I do believe he's been good for the Angel organization. When his contract is up (or possibly before depending) it'll be time for a change. And I have to agree with you about the people that think he's (Scioscia) the worst in the game! It's hard to take them seriously when their pov is distorted by a bias. When it's all said and done baseball historians will judge Scioscia's managerial career very favorably. Oh, and btw, since when has A-Rod had any credibility?
  2. Agree. I have no doubt that Richards underwent this treatment so that he could return sooner. Whether it was a wise decision or not remains to be seen.
  3. The title of the thread is "Richards clears final hurdle"! I'm just saying that the hurdles in front of Richards are yet to be "cleared" and caution should be exercised otherwise people are going to set themselves up for possible disappointment if Richards can't make it through the season. It's great that he's showing improvement but there is a long way to go imo.
  4. It's great that Richards threw 55 pitches and was effective, but that doesn't equate to a season, hell 55 pitches is equal to about 5 innings. Saying that he is ready to go for the season is premature imo..lets see how he does in the spring before he's declared healed. I'm not trying to be negative either, but I'll be skeptical until he's pitched several games in a row before I get my hopes up.
  5. Agree. Lack of replacement minor leaguers for those that were injured is what killed the Angels this year not Scioscia. The impact of those injuries is going to spill over to next season also because we've lost 2 and maybe 3 starters for next year. How would the Halos have done without all of the injuries is an unknown. One thing that is clear is that after the AS break the Angels were one game over .500 the rest of way with a patch work rotation and bullpen. The Angels are up against the wall with the starting rotation for next year with Trop and Heaney out for the year. Richards is a big question mark, a big enough of one that I don't think he can be counted on. Not to mention that LF and 2B needs to be addressed with something better than a blow out patch.
  6. LOL! Jesus Bob. Glad you made it over here to. Scioscia also thanks you.
  7. Perhaps we should "burn the page". lol
  8. IMHO a DH should never win the MVP and I don't care what his numbers are. Playing only half the game is NOT valuable!
  9. I was never a Dodger fan but I can relate to their fans and how they feel about Vin. I never really got over Chick Hearn being gone and to this day it's strange to listen or watch the Lakers without him.
  10. Well this season has come to an end for the Angels and it also marks the end of the first season for some of us that came here from the MLB board that got closed down. I was glad to see many people make it over here..it's been fun. All in all it has been a fun time here and I for one have enjoyed my time here and I hope to continue to talk about Angels baseball with everyone at my new Angel home. BTW..Jered Weaver gave it maximum effort for 11 years in an Angel uniform and I'd like to give him a tip of the cap and wish him well..it was a great run Jered and thanks for the memories. To the rest of the American League..just wait till next year!
  11. Well that's it folks, the season is over and the Angels will LTBU for the last time until 2017.
  12. Terry reports that the Angels were third in attendance in the American league this year.
  13. If he continues to hit for several more years he'll be considered a steal.
  14. Last game of the year lets go out on a winning note. Lets Go Halos!
