  1. I have to say I'm very suspicious. MLB is on a record pace for home runs this year and pitching velocity is also up some. Home runs are flying out faster than they did during the height of the PED era in the 90's. Back then there were all kind of excuses for the sudden surge in home runs like juiced balls and smaller ball parks, but as we all came to know it was steroids that was the cause. Have the chemist come up with better undetectable drugs that have put them one step ahead of the testers..I wouldn't bet against it. People talk about this being the post steroid era in baseball but I have serious reservations. Babe Ruth, Roger Maris, Henry Aaron..Cody Bellinger!
  2. I think extending him is risky due to his track record and age. I do like him and wouldn't mind a 2 or 3 year deal, however anything beyond that would be taking a chance. If he continues to play well for the remainder of the year I doubt that he could be had for 2 or 3 years anyway, so caution might be the best course of action here. We need a left fielder, but we don't need any more bad contracts.
  3. It's obvious that Albert is off to a bad start thus far but as long as he believes he can produce he'll keep playing. People that think Albert should retire at the end of this year and leave all that money on the table are dreaming. Face it, it was a bad contract and unfortunately the Angels are just going to have to live with it.
  4. June is not the time to ask Albert about what he's going to do next season.
  5. Bad form hangin, Jeff answered the question. It wasn't a "smart ass remark", Jeff's answer is the reality of the situation because the Angels don't have a replacement for DH/1B if they were to bench/dump Albert. Maybe you'd like to see Valbuena DH for the rest of the season?
  6. Just a couple of observations regarding Scioscia. I'm not an apologist for Scioscia and I'm not one that constantly calls for getting rid of him either, but I think that so far this season he's done a very good job considering what hes been given to work with. In fact I can't imagine many doing any better under these circumstances. As far a EY goes, come on, it's just a day off.
  7. Lets Go Halos! A new streak starts tonight.
  8. LTBU!! Don't look now..the Angels are over .500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. They got nothing out of Sessions because he can't seem to remember much of what he did the last year. lol
