  1. To cover their noses when the pipes burst... Stop asking questions you know the answer to.
  2. I think Seattle wrecked him one of the times they saw him but yeah... He's earned a chance to prove he's NOT smoke and mirrors.
  3. Last year is why he is getting a chance and why he's earned the right to prove he can spit in the face of his periphs. You haven't seen me say he shouldn't have been called up -- but I genuinely believe he's the least talented pitcher on the 40 man. Given I haven't made those connections the only one coming to those conclusions is you. As far as comparing my statements on Bridwell to the Ohtani idiocy goes -- Nope... We have a track record on Bridwell, the people writing off Ohtani based on ST numbers were clueless.
  4. It's not aggressive and it's not too early. It's unpleasant to see or even for me to say but, he's pitching to what his history projects him to do. Parker Bridwell has been pitching as a professional baseball player since 2010 -- there is a lot of statistical information on him, a lot to base future performance on. I'd be a lot less willing to say what I have had we seen a big bump in all that predictive data last year but we didn't. That's not to say tonight's effort is his real level of talent but... a 5.00 ERA is a pretty real expectation. The lone thing about Bridwells MLB career that gives a sliver of hope is that his HR/9 rate at the highest level is nearly twice his minor league rate -- but in the era of launch angle, it's hard to know if the previous data means anything. Not trying to be excessively harsh Arte, I'm rarely completely down on a guy and would gladly love for him to continue to fake his way through things, but it's not something I'd bet on. Hopefully Parker does better next time out.
  5. Yes, really. He will likely get more chances because history has shown that there are some guys that defy repeatedly defy their predictive data but, he had never done it in the minors and unless he altered what he was doing when he got to Anaheim it's unlikely he would continue to do so.
  6. You may want to have an escalator installed.... You may be up there a lot.
  7. Nope. Worst pitcher on the 40 man roster but he fluked his way to a decent raw ERA, and people think that's who he is and not the guy all the minor league predictive data that tells us he really is. I breathe deep and hope he can smoke and mirrors his way through 5 innings whenever he starts, but it's like 2016 Jered Weaver all over again.
  8. The flipside -- shadows may help hide the split a bit better.
  9. Canning and Jones both seem to have a real love for baseball... Jones spoke a lot about having been blessed with the opportunity to take in information while in ST... Dude could already give Trout tips on how to hold up his end of an interview.... Don't mind me.... Vote Mike Trout #1!!!!
  10. Carmen San Diego, and Waldo are similarly missing..... Coincidence?
  11. Love that Canning is keeping it simple, talks about its still just baseball... That sort of mindset or lack thereof is what sometimes separates a MLB player from a Brandon Wood. Good job!
  12. Asking cause I know you lived through some dark days as a fan -- but how crazy would you have thought it if someone were to tell you that within two years of that trade our farm system would be in the top 15.... That we would have returned to the international market.... That AAA would have real depth..... That the MLB team would be viable contenders again.... and that we would be players for the biggest Asian import ever? It's crazy what Eppler has done.. Even more so when you consider all the changes to the CBA and how little wiggle room he has had to cheat the system... Meanwhile, he's likely working on his list of undervalued guys on the verge of being made available..... Dude is never not working...
  13. Thank you -- before Lou agrees with you.. I just wanna say thank you.... Cozart may have hit that bomb, but you the real MVP...
  14. The super hot .400 hitter just played to his .221 proven ability....
  15. Actually, you would have had him in SLC because spring training stats.
