because of the rain delay and going to church on saturday, i wasn't able to reset my roster until saturday night. got kuchar in just in time. glad to see he exploded on sunday and didn't do the ol' el fade-o on 18 (although he tried on 17).

No phil for me.  Don't have too much trust in him right now.  But he is bound to go on a good two month run.  He desperately wants to win the US open so you have to figure that will be his goal for the next couple of years and it is in 5 weeks so now is a good time for him to turn it on.

Mickelson's irons game has been fabulous today. Four birdies on second shots within 3,6,8, and 9 feet of the hole. Six-under now.

 

And as I type this, his tee shot on the par-3 13th goes haywire.

He's already holed putts of 29 and 38 feet.

He's tied for the lead now. Minus-7 through 8 holes!

this week's tournament is one of my favorites, the players championship. 

 

the closing three holes are amazing to watch. would love to play there some time. i've played the pete dye stadium course at pga west (which was the original home of the skins game) and it was incredible. shot an 89. the par 3 island hole is so bloody intimidating.

Sergio is having a great round, minus-6 through 13 holes. Tied for the lead with Russell Henley.

Henley knows how to play 17, lands his tee shot 5 feet from the hole.

 

He birdies it, of course. Nine birdies today! A double at the 7th hole his only blemish.

which means he play well today and tomorrow, then shoot 76 on saturday and 80 on sunday.
