Spieth twice won the junior amateur (slightly different from the US amateur).

Tiger won the US junior three times and the US Am three times.

To SS's point I think it's a different era now. Guys tear it up in the amateur and junior ranks and then fizzle out once they turn pro. With that being said, Spieth is damn good and has been for a long time.

Good first half though with the back and forth. Freedy started solid and up until putting on #2 I thought Rickie was going to make the run.

 

Although, with that bunker shot on #4, I thought Spieth was going to run away with it.

I thought it was interesting how many times a lefty has won recently. It makes sense considering how many holes are right to left doglegs.
