Duval, amazing story. Couldn't move his right arm, got a little treatment, then shoots a 66.

 

Today is another story, though. He's +3 through 10 holes.

 

Duval came into the weekend ranked 890th in the world.

Duval was so psyched out by Tiger (not a knock, just an observation...who wouldn't be?) he tried to bulk up and hit it harder. farther.

That was all she wrote for him. Hell, his 59 in the desert seems like only yesterday. I followed him around Torrey and La Costa a couple times, seemed like a pretty nice guy.

I played this Byron Nelson course..like most things...er... everything in Texas, it is way over-rated.

No, he's only 44 years old. Coming into the weekend, Weir was ranked 609th in the world.

 

The man he beat in a playoff at the 2003 Masters, Len Mattiace, also pretty much disappeared after that. He tore up both knees in a skiing accident after the 2003 season, and has been trying to get back on the Tour by playing in Web.com events.

Mahan's back-nine was chaotic. He misses a 3-foot par putt on 15, makes a 32-footer for birdie on 17, then takes four shots to get on the green on the par-4 18th.

 

His 29 on the front nine was a thing of beauty, however.
