I don't think the Yankees will get him. After all, their FO recently expressed their aversion to long contracts.

I strongly believe that the Angels will sign him. I'm sure Arte is salivating over Tanaka; I'm sure he's aware that Tanaka will all this increase fan attendance, wins, and garner media attention for the Angels. Hopefully he signs him, it'll make up for skimping out on Greinke.

The #Dodgers have let it be known they plan to go all-out in their efforts to sign Tanaka, saying they and certainly won't be out-bid.

How about Zito as a depth move if we don't get Tanaka or Garza?

Zito was really bad last year. He was really bad in 2011 and he's been mediocre every other year since he signed with the Giants.

 

If they sign him to a minor league deal, then sure. Any guaranteed contract would be foolish though IMO.

I thought he pitched well down the stretch? That must have been 2012. I figured if we are throwing names around like Maholm and Capuano, why not Zito.
