The problem with most homophobic people is that they lack the self-awareness to exam their own sexuality and thus can't empathize with others. It's just a bizarre perspective to have because it proves that a person doesn't know how human beings operate. At the age of 12, I understood that sexual orientation was beyond our control and that it just "is." It boggles my mind that adults can't grasp that notion.
