That article someone linked referred to Disar as loose and upbeat .  Maybe he's mellowed as he has aged or it's just a case of his being a coach means he doesn't have to be the clubhouse snitch anymore.

At least he isn't the hitting coach.

He probably finally realized that snitches get stitches.

Clubhouse snitch, haha.  Sucks that the guy wanted other players to actually give a shit.

"His imprint may have been most dramatic with infielder Jose Iglesias, who was admittedly disappointed after being sent to Triple-A following a strong start in early April, at a time when Stephen Drew was on the DL. Iglesias struggled not just offensively but also with his effort level in Triple-A, failing to run out grounders on multiple occasions. DiSarcina pulled Iglesias in the middle of a game after one such incident, and the shortstop sat out of the next three games. But DiSarcina presented the approach not as a benching or a punishment, but instead an opportunity for Iglesias to catch his breath, to return to playing with the energy and joy that are often associated with the 23-year-old."

Watch out Pujols!

Sucked ever more that his selfish play and unwillingness to take a pitch killed more rallies than can be counted.  Single most overrated Angel of his era.   Guys like Jim Edmonds went out, and performed... Guys like Disar, sucked ass, stewed, and bitched at the guys actually carrying their weight.  But hey, that scowl when they lost made his 0-4 batting line okay in the eyes of lots of Angels fans.

I've never understood the love affair with the guy other than the Steve Bisheff and company loved him and talked him up.

Yea we were perfectly fine with losing and him going 0-4.  There can't be any middle ground here, right?  I'll take passionate guys that call other guys out in the dugout any day of the week.  His approach at the plate has nothing to do with his attitude in the clubhouse.  If Edmonds was acting like a jackass, or the perception in the clubhouse wasn't he didn't give full effort he should have been called out regardless of how he was playing.

The uptick in coaching passion and discipline was desperately needed.

That being said, the only thing I don't wish is for them to become Collins, Bowa, etc.

But seeing that this staff has a lot of coaching experience, that hopefully won't be the case and this group of players will realize that 2014 NEEDS to be TOTALLY different from 2013.

Fundamentals need to be re-emphasized, because they were mediocre in 2013.
