He's been at a JC due to injury, but each step of the way he's improved upon the school he was at previously in an academic sense.

First he was at... USC, but he got injured and was pushed out by Kiffin due likely scholly issues. Then he went to a JC. Then he committed to WSU. Now he's committed to Cal.

UCLA can't build their football facility until it is 100% funded because of how badly Memorial Stadium put Cal in debt, they have raised 40 of the 50 million needed, normally they would have already broken ground.  The UC system won't allow any construction unless it is 100% funded.  Additionally UC athletic funding is going to suffer because the UC system is having to absorb the losses.

On campus football facility for practice/meetings/rehab/etc.  UCLA has awful facilities right now that date back to the 60s.
