Interesting.  Kind of surprised that Holland was traded.

 

Another D man...  Wish we could get rid of Sbisa already.

Holland has no room on this team though. Trade didn't surprise me. Getzlaf, Koivu, Perreault, Bonino, Cogliano, Rakell all on the depth chart. Could argue Holland should be ahead of Rakell, but even then Holland is more valuable as a trade chip.

WTF was Getzlaf doing in the top 3 shootout players?

 

Is Bonino hurt or sick (I caught parts of the game on the radio) or was that Bruce pulling a Scioscia and tanking his teams chances so he could show confidence in one of his team leaders.

 

 

It's not like Getzlaf is a bad player...

 

Getzlaf has been great since Bruce arrived. The shootout is just not where he shines. Bonino is better and, I think, should be in the top three.

You were acting like he belongs no where near the shootout. He's still one of our better options. Maybe Bonino has a swore wrist, and Boudreau thought Getzy was the better option that night? Who knows. It's not like who threw out Bryan Allen out there.

Getzlaf hasn't been THAT bad on the shootout. My ideal 3 would be Bones, Perry, Silfverberg/Etem.

Bonino has been great in shootouts, but he's only 4/7. Getzy is 21/57 or something like that.

 

I'd like having Bonino be one of the tie breakers after the first 3 quite honestly. I know the argument is that you have to get to that point first for it to work, but I am just saying that I like the idea.

Rakell down.  Should mean Koivu is back tonight.  Rakell did a great job, especially on faceoffs.

 

As for the shootout... I was surprised Bones wasn't in there but you can't really argue with Getz in there either.  Hope for a win tonight, another tough challenge.

Oh joy, Beleskey is back too. I'm not thrilled about that. Much rather have Maroon out there instead. Faster, stronger, better scorer.

We dominate the 1st period and then get dominated in the 2nd. Surprise surprise... Sbisa at it again.

Sbisa. I was pretty confident that we'd tie it after the Getzlaf goal, because it looked like they had all the momentum, but that horrible 3rd goal put the nail in the coffin. Sbisa didn't clear the crease, and he ended up screening Fasth.  Fasth was very bad tonight too, but I don't think any of the goals were directly his fault though.

 

Pretty disappointing after that pretty solid first period. Pittsburgh is a good team though, so props to them.

Is it just me or has Teemu completely disappeared?

 

This team definitely misses Vatanen though.  Sbisa is crap.

Teemu has been nonexistent all season. He still has a few breakout plays but he doesn't finish them like he used to. Kinda bummed out about that. Sbisa is a piece of crap though. 0-3-1 on probably our easiest 3+ game road trip. Ugly.

Sbisa is -5 in 7 games...  That is beyond awful.

I'd like to see how Allen and Beauch are in +/- when paired with Sbisa. Probably worse than they are without him.

Stoked that this will be my first Jagr/Brodeur game. Glad I get a chance to see these guys before they call it a career.
