Ducks apparently shifting their attention to Ryan Kesler. Canucks have been on record asking for a 20-25 year old C, top prospect, and a 1st round pick. So in other words, Bonino, Palms/Vatanen/Etem/Rakell, and Ottawa's pick.

Canucks got the young C in the Florida trade. I'd do Etem, Rakell and one of the 1st rounders for Kesler in a heartbeat.

While I would hate losing Etem.  Etem and a 1st, considering we have 2 first rounders, would be interesting.  Hard part is, Kesler is owed 3 years, $5 million a year.  That will be a big hit on the cap.

He's a natural center but can play wing too, Cory. I'd probably cream myself if they got Kesler. All depends on the price.

Anyone else think the St Louis - Callahan trade is an odd one?  Tampa Bay is right in the middle of the playoff hunt, and they trade their leading scorer for a rental?

Ok, guess it makes sense.  I'm good with it though.  TB was a pain in the ass for the Ducks.  Anything to make their offense less annoying.

Wonder if they are going to flip Callahan?  Not sure how their defensive corps is.  But they could probably get a few more picks for him.

 

edit:  never mind.  Thought Callahan was a defenseman for some reason.

Penner is awesome.  He loved playing for the ducks and living in OC.  I feel bad that he got traded.
