My weather app told me it was going to be "much cooler than yesterday" and it's hot as hell outside right now.

Huntington Beach though is usually 10-15 degrees cooler than inland areas of OC.

 

This entire month of September heat wave, and soon-to-be humidity from Hurricane Odile, had better be forewarning of either normal or above normal rain this winter.

If this, plus Atlantic hurricane season being way down from the norm and Pacific hurricane season being higher than the norm, doesn't FINALLY produce at least normal winter rains for SoCal to begin to end the THREE year drought, NOTHING will.

The National Weather Service put us under a flash flood watch stretching through both Wednesday and Thursday as a result of the hurricane that hit western Mexico. This is the longest duration watch I ever remember them initiating here. We didn't get a drop of rain, never saw as much as a dark cloud overhead.

Total downpour here in the desert southwest, high winds. A limb about 30 feet long broke off my neighbor's shoestring acacia. Fortunately it didn't hit their house. Knocked out the satellite signal, which very seldom happens here.
