WTF is with this bleeping weather?

Lol, I was listening to KROQ online this morning and they were saying how there was a 10 mile backup on the 10 from a crash and a ton of other backups.  Amazing how much rain wrecks LA.

that's because people are morons and won't slow down.

People are morons. Just drive the same in rain, especially light rain....unless you have bad tires that are susceptible to hydroplaning in which case just move over to the right and slow down.

Why people just stop or drop 20-30 mph because of some water drops is something I never understood. Friends from out of state in rain heavy climates don't get it either.

Too bad most of the rain will run off into the ocean.  The problem with heavy rain is that it has nowhere to go so it just all runs into the ocean.  Wont help the drought that much.

MWDOC has systems that catch a lot of it and let it settle into the water table. Also many of the reservoirs in Norcal will start to fill back up.

Depends. The Central Valley has been hit the hardest in the drought with no ocean for run off. Instead, the heavy rains are filling up the empty reservoirs that were once lakes. But the bigger picture is that these heavy storms bring huge amounts of snow, that will be collected as it melts throughout spring.

I'd been wondering about this very thing. So much water fills the LA river that it would be worth someone's effort to try and collect at least some of it. Glad to hear someone is doing something.

In that vein, the Big Tujunga reservoir rose 12 feet this weekend.
