..and here we go.

Well the good thing is we're not the Knicks organization at the moment and kicking James Worthy out of Staples Center, but I don't see Jim willingly hand over the reins. Magic could potentially bring back Jerry West as well(something he has advocated for).

I actually like Ryan West quite a bit, nor can I really complain too much about the picks we've made over the past 3 years. I'm pretty happy with Randle, Clarkson, Russell, Nance, Ingram and Zubac.  There are only two guys I can think of that I wish we'd drafted and that's Myles Turner of Indi and Jocic of Denver but I'm completely fine with what we've done based on where we were drafting.

Just need for the youngsters to grow together, and find even just one rock solid veteran oncourt leader type FA to bring in after the season .

And no, he can't be constantly on the shelf like Nash turned out to be.   Might as well have brought in Kevin Nash, although he did play division 1 basketball in college.

That was a heartbreak loss last night, as Lou Williams did everything he could except for the last second 3 pt. miss that would have won the game.   Cousins is always impossible for the Lakers to stop.

Lou Williams needs to be traded for a first round pick. We can't afford him winning us pointless games and affecting our draft pick chances.

Same with Nick Young if anyone even wants that bozo.

The boogie cousins trade is going to hurt his return imo.

Magic running the show now. Idk how I feel about this

No one knows if Magic is qualified to run the basketball operations of an organization. In most cases, great former NBA players have failed miserably. But one thing this does ensure is to get the two idiots that were in charge of basketball operations out of there. Jim was a flat out idiot and Mitch could not keep up with the times. The Mosgov and Deng signings were the final straw for those bone heads.

I'm just hoping that Magic gets together a group of analytical guys who understand and know how to construct a successful basketball team. If he thinks he knows how to do it alone, he's probably wrong, because he has no experience running a team. I'm hoping he gets together the type of personnel the Dodgers have, where a lot of smart guys make the baseball decisions.

If this doesn't end up being the case, at least Magic got Mitch and Jim out, which is a positive in itself.

I'm pretty scared. This looks like a move looking to recapture the past instead of looking forward. Hopefully I'm wrong.

This is my hope as well. He'll obviously be a bigger presence as he's one of faces of the franchise and has a personal tie to the team, but I hope the new regime can learn from the failures of Mitch and Jim. I don't need to hear about "toughening up" and "the way we used to play the game" cliches. This is a much different league than the one he and showtime ran through.

That's my best hope as well. But Magic doesn't run the Dodgers. He's a figurehead and owns like 2%. If that's all he is then I'm fine with that. But why do people think Magic is totally into the way the game is played now or understands it? I may be misrembering but he seems to be a guy who thinks basketball was at its best when he played. I seem to recall him making comments to those effect. Just because he played like they do now doesn't mean that's the style he likes. Joe Morgan was one of the best sabermetric players ever. He does nothing but disparage their use.

What is Magic going to do other than trot out old trophies and say what the Lakers used to be?

But once again, if he just wants to hire good people and be hands off that's excellent. Just go out there and schmooze FA? Great! But I don't see Magic having left his role with the Dodgers to do that. He has said he wants to be making the decisions. And the people he's mentioned discussing things with are James Worthy and Robert Horry. I don't have a lot of confidence.
