Billy Buckner up, roster move to follow

Wouldn't it be epic if Blanton still got to 20 losses even after being taken out of the rotation?

That is what I want to see.

Well, he's already leading the league in HRs allowed despite not starting a game in a month.

I have faith in him.

Why Buckner over and over, but no Jeremy Berg?

What is the deal with Berg not ever getting a chance up here?

What does Buckner have, that Berg doesn't?

Ahh hah, he's one of JeDi's guys.

Are you really going to play that game, Dipoto?

That's NOT how you build success.

You take the best, regardless of who brought them in.

By the way Dipoto, Berg's stats crush Buckner's stats.

Buckner has a 36/28 Ks/BBs ratio vs. 59/16 Ks/BBs by Berg.

Buckner has a 4.60 ERA vs. 2.90 ERA by Berg.

I agree that Berg should be up here by now(and there certainly a shortage of expendable guys in the bullpen to replace at any point), but...

Considering how little relief the starters have given the bullpen these past handful of days, Buckner, who has been a starter all year for the Bees, does give you a guy you can throw out there til his arm falls off(not literally, but you get the point) if need be. Berg really doesn't. And considering who's starting today, there's probably a decent chance the pen will have to absorb some more innings.

Of course, in a vacuum, I would prefer to see Shoemaker even in the emergency/mopup/whatever role than Buckner, but he started last night.

I would like to see Shoemaker also. He has been pitching much better than Buckner lately.  Leads all of Milb in innings pitched.  K's 7.7/9 and BB 1.48/9.  K/BB is 5.29.  Walks are few and far between which is something the Angels bullpen knows nothing about. The guy averages 6.2 innings a start.  Would like to see him in a one inning stint with the Angels.  What does DiPoto have to lose? Nothing at this point.
