I don't get this.  Padres will trade Stites who has a sub 1.00 WHIP and a 2.08 ERA as a reliever in AA.  And Thatcher a 1.07 WHIP, 2.10 ERA reliever in 50 starts 30 innings this season.  And a competitive balance draft pick.
