If that is a plea deal, I wonder what the alternative was. Death sentences are reserved for first degree murder in most states.

One of the charges was murder of the unborn child of one of the girls.

They may well, but the state has to collect it first.

This is a good deal to spare the victims and families.  I still think he should be immediately castrated, and hopefully they can find some other cases to put on him that would qualify for the DP.

I always felt bad for the oldest girl.  Besides having her son taken away and being deserted by her family (prior to the abduction), according to the news the other day she's also the victim of identity theft.  Somebody, possibly a relative, has been collecting SSDI benefits in her name. 

 

Felt worse after seeing a picture of her today.  Apparently she's a midget?  It's bad enough that people prey on anyone, but to pick on a small defenseless girl is just terrible.

Apparently Castro will be isolated in prison with maybe 1 hour in the garden per day (by himself). He may or may not get a tv in his cell.

Listening to Castro in court yesterday was disturbing. He blamed what he did on his sexual desires, and didn't seem to think he was a bad person. He also said he missed his daughter, the child that was a product of rape with a woman held captive and denied the right to live her own life freely. Pure evil.
