According to some fans here, Dipoto's good, but he must be the biggest wussie ever.

His owner goes past him to sign whoever the owner wants while Jerry is helpless and the manager calls up and plays whoever he wants while Jerry sits helpless.

Poor Jerry.

Seriously...    Teflon Jerry is never at fault.  It's always someone else's fault.

What is really sad, is there seems to be nobody in a position to ask questions like this, directly to the people making the decisions.
Instead of direct questions and answers, Angel fans are left to speculate.
It has been this way for years.

Why is that?

Wow, interesting straw man arguments. Dipoto's alleged trade of Haren for Marmol would have been terrible. The decision process thinking this was a good idea was bizarre.

Marmol is a bit of a wild card. He walks a lot of people, but if you walk the bases loaded, but so long as they don't score, no harm done. He also has the one key trait that makes him an excellent pitcher for the Angels -- lots of flyballs.

1) Lots of Flyballs

2) Trout and Bourjos Shuck in the OF Simultaneously

3) ?

4) Profit

Why is Brad Hawpe still on the Angels?

Because 4 years ago Hawpe was a .900 OPS player and the Angels cannot resist a player that was a slugger 4 years previous. Calhoun is a .900 OPS player now, we have to wait until he falls off the map or is out of baseball for 1 to 2 years (like Hawpe and Harris) before the Angels are interested.

How many times does the business you are working for let the general public question their decision making?

Makes sense, I mean, how to be THIS bad with such a high payroll needs to be kept as a closely guarded secret strategy.

If this was Boston or NY, people would be asking questions and expecting some answers. In OC nobody dares ask real questions, nor do they expect anything but puff pieces from the press, and cliches, and evasion from the FO..

I seriously think that Hawpe and Cowgill are with the big club because they are better part-time players. I think Calhoun is in SLC because he's getting full-time ABs there, and probably wouldn't be with the big club (for whatever reason). He may also be showcased for a trade.

Personally, this is the reason why we should never have signed Hamilton.

Jerry's getting punked and he's ok with it.

Do you care to expand on that brilliant comment? There isn't anything b.s. about it. It's a fact.

I read your comment to mean that Dipoto likes Shuck, Hawpe, and Cowgill, and does not like Calhoun. Implying that Calhoun is not up with the big club because JD doesn't like him.

Both Dipoto and Calhoun were at our Spring Fanfest and Jerry was very complimentary of Calhoun and recognized his plate discipline.

Chuck...I think if you look back, you and I were both Kole fans before ST even started.

What is it ....again...with these guys who are Willits, Davannon, Hillendbrand (read Cowgill- Hawpe) type players?

Sioscia's input. Pretty apparent,IMO, that he gets to pick the "roster fillers".
