this cleveland - NY series has been fun to watch.

NY went up 6-2 thanks to a 3-run blast by stanton, but the guards came back with 3 in the bottom half to make it 6-5. 

headed now to the 8th.

cleveland just tied it up in the B8 on a squibber down the first base line that the pitcher and firstbasemen couldn't manage.

All sorts of action and big blasts. But once again bad inner diamond defense cost both the Yankees and Cleveland critical late inning runs.  Those plays will get lost in the headlines, but can be difference makers.

Stanton ties it with a 2-run blast.

Wow! What a pitching strategy/execution  mistake.  

The hottest hitter on a power roll for the Yankees. He has  two outs, and Stanton 0 - 2 and nibbles around trying to get a chase. Rather than walking him with another chase type pitch he grooves one down the middle. Anything but a homer and they still have the lead. A great pitched  game till then wasted.

In his injury-shortened 2015 season, his AVERAGE exit velocity was 98.5 MPH.  Lol

Would be a miracle for Cleveland to win this series...but stranger things have happened.

Soto: big time clutch hitter.

And enormously wealthy free-agent-to-be.

Everyone will talk about Soto and Stanton. Deservedly so. And maybe Cleveland's 'big four' relievers sub standard clutch pitching. 

But again, an inner diamond defensive mistake set up that Soto drama. The entire inning was changed with that play. 

Anyways, looks like the media dream of the Yankee/Dodger series is inevitable.  Unless the Mets really are a miracle team.
