Well he’s blowing it.  No translation needed.

Who would have thought the 1966 Oriole consecutive  inning shutout record would be on the verge of being beaten?

The Orioles had elite starters. Dodgers doing it with their entire pitching staff. Funny that in 1966 the Orioles swept the defending champion Dodgers, with their elite starters. The era of the pitcher in the mid to late sixties.

Oddly enough, their starters that year were kinda mediocre overall, even though they were very good in the WS.  Palmer's ERA+ during the regular season was only 98 (so slightly below average).  Wally Bunker had a below average year.  Their dominant starting pitching really started coming into play the following year and into the very early '70s.

Orioles of 1966 still in the record books. Funny how career journeyman Moe Drabowsky became so critical to their success. You never know who can get hot in a short series.

Should be an interesting time in New York for the Dodgers. They played three straight at home. And all their games so far have been in SoCal. With essentially minimal travel and under ideal conditions. Weather (especially at night) could be a new factor for them. Mets have played in three different  time zones and on the road in the mid west, east, and in SoCal. And now are at home with some momentum.

Still should be a long series.

The ALCS starts today, so there are two games.  Someone has to get the early slot.  This happens every year.

It would have made more sense to have the east coast guys go first instead of an afternoon game on the west and late night on the east.
