The culture has to change the same way that Lou Holtz changed Notre Dames losing culture.

If you are putting forward Holtz as an example to emulate, I suggest reading Under the Tarnished Dome. He wasn't the lovable little imp that he was made out to be. His treatment of players would have gotten him fired in today's game.

Arte Is following the Donald Sterling Clippers blueprint quite well. No direction and penny pinching.

Thanks Arte!

But...but we are a big-market team.  Renaming the team 'Los Angeles' Angels would allow for the ever-constant acquisition and development of top talent. The windfall from applying the LA designation was supposed to be a cash cow.  How well has that worked?

It’s been a cash cow. The utilization of the cow has been for shit.

Can anyone verify that teams can no longer be named after states if there is more than one team in that state?  I thought I read somewhere that MLB changed that awhile back and teams at that time that were named after states were grandfathered in. I can’t find it in a google search.  Anyone else recall this?

True. Arizona, Colorado, Minnesota, and Texas are exempt.

It is unfathomable to me the Angels have the worst farm system in baseball after missing the playoffs for 10 straight years.

how the hell do you blow that many drafts.

You start by understanding they just started the rebuild, and they promote their guys quickly. It’s totally reasonable to think they could still have Neto, Schanuel, Joyce in the minors along with Dana, Moore and Rada. Thats a top 10-15 farm.

But they don’t because this organization is run by clowns.

I have to give you credit bud. You come back to your master for a beat down consistently. It’s impressive.

It’s common sense idiot. I wasn’t praising the team. I simply said they basically just started a rebuild. Sorry you choose to ignore that. I said they promote their players quickly, also a fact. The only subjective thing I said, while still not praising the team, is if guys like Neto, Joyce and Schanuel were in the minors they’d be ranked higher. Again, feel free to ignore that and say something stupid.
