I was at first no-hitter at Dodger Stadium in 1962

I was doing an art project in HS using pictures from my Angels' programs.  My teacher told me he wasn't really a baseball fan, but a friend had asked him to go to a game one time.  It was the same game you went to see.  He said he felt bad that his friend hadn't asked a real fan to see the game, but it was something he would never forget.

Not many people at that game. When my family moved out here in 1958 and we lived in Esat LA. and went to many Dodger games at coliseum. My dad was an Indian and Pirates fan and became Angel fans in December 1960. Went to many games in 1961 at Wrigley Field in LA. In 1962 many games at Chavez Ravine. I still remember Dave Nicholson popping out to Felix Torres at 3B for final out. Many fans know of Bo Belinsky but his stats in that month of May were one of best months any halo pitcher has ever had.

I've seen two no hitters in Anaheim.  Both times against the "Twinkies".

  • On Sept 28, 1974 we saw Nolan Ryan's 3rd no hitter from cheap 3rd base field box seats (section 105/106?). Ryan was sloppy hot and wild that night https://sabr.org/gamesproj/game/september-28-1974-nolan-ryan-tosses-third-career-no-hitter/
  • On May 2, 2012 we saw Jered Weaver's "first" no hitter from first row, section 418.  Jered was dominating from the start and I felt the no-no was possible from the 5th inning.  Torii Hunter retreated to the warning track in right field to catch the final out.
