Side note: if they do call up Kavadas, they will have rostered the only two guys named Niko to ever play in the majors.

Sounds like to me they are giving Moore another two weeks, and will call him up for the Seattle Series on 8-30. Then it's still 28 games. (Schanuel was called up August 18th, but only played 29 games down the stretch).

Alternatively you can call him up on the road, in Detroit, After they get back from Canada. It's possible he doesn't have a passport yet, though you'd think the Angels would help him take care of that after they signed him.

28 x 4 AB = 112 AB's. 32 x 4 = 128 AB's. 

You really don't want to sit him to keep him under 130 AB's for the last week.

Schanuel was called up 8-18-23, Played 5 of the next 6 games, and pinch hit in the other, including two double headers. Only played one against the Mets and three then against the Phillies on the roadtrip. Managed 46 PA and 37 AB in August in 10 games (9 Starts).

In September, he played 19 of the 28 games, getting 86 PA and 72 AB's.

Jack Lopez is older than both of the guys who are getting DFA'ed.

Kavadas turns 26 in late October. Wouldn't really surprise me if this is basically the Angels seeing if he deserves to stay on the 40-man this off-season, since they have a bunch of guys who need to be added or they'll be exposed in the Rule 5 draft.

That has to be it.   48 PAs for SLC, he has a lowly .570 OPS and 18/4 Ks/BBs

Just leave Moore in the minors, have him start at AA next year and plan to call him up next year. Let Stafanic get some at-bats and playing time, Let O'hoppe rotate at the DH spot with Kavadas, Sucks that Lugo is hurt, Bring up some of the Bp arms (hicks, that rule 5 pick we got from Boston and Torres), and DFA Moore, and who ever else in than Bullpen...

He can get 30 games worth of major league experience if they call him up two weeks from tonight. Better to do that I think. It will not affect his Super Two or FA years...Assuming he comes up and never goes back down, he will have five years and 30 days worth of experience after the 2029 season, making the 2030 season his last year under control..which is one year after Schanuel and Neto.....who, despite Neto playing far more games in 2023, will be eligible for free agency the same year---after 2029.

(Neto will likely be a Super Two and Schanuel will not).
