July had such promise

Many excuses were made about the "early tough schedule" and "injuries".   July looked promising with (10) games vs the A's, (2) vs. the Rockies, and (3) vs the trending down Cubs.   In addition, many fans believed that both Rendon and Trout would return to beef up the offense, and the "Wash effect" would turn the team into wildcard contenders

The result on July 31 was an 11-14 record, both Trout and Rendon on the IL, and a 47-61 overall record.   This is a colossal under performance by any standard.

Last year's team was 56-51 through July.

The jury on Perry is no longer "out".   Just about every move Perry made since last year's trade deadline season has back fired.   This off season he does nothing substantial.   This trade deadline he under performs again.   

In Perry's words, "I had to do 'something'."   Well this year Arte needs to do "something".   Perry needs to go.

I'm not sure why you are surprised the 5th worst team in baseball has underperformed.

I wouldn't call it "under-performance." They're performing to their ability level - not a good team. They're on pace for 71 wins, two below the last two years. Considering that they lost their best player and didn't add any substantial pieces, and Trout and Rendon haven't made up the difference as hoped, it makes sense. The only reason they're not worse is that some of the young players are developing.
