They're not trading Soriano.  I honestly don't know why you keep bringing it up.

Soriano could bring back a huge return to a team with many needs. Many sites say teams will ask about Soriano. You cannot say Perry would not listen to offers on Soriano.

No team is going to unload multiple good prospects for a guy with 1 season of MLB relieving plus 1/2 season of MLB starting experience.

Plus pitching is a big commodity, and plus the lack of depth in the Halos rotation.

Angels in 9th losing season and you would listen to offers on Soriano. Teams have asked about him why would they do that. Many teams with good farm systems have prospects to deal.

Look what Angels gave up last year for rentals on a slim chance of making playoffs. Real contenders would love a talent like Soriano and his team control.

No, you want to keep the core young players and jettison the veterans that you can move. Maybe you haven't noticed but the Angels lost 32 games next season when Sandoval went down. Anderson is probably gone in trade so that leaves 64 games to fill and the Angels don't have the pitching depth to absorb it to toss aside one of the best pitchers they have in the rotation.

So please, quit trying to justify every dumb idea that rattles around in your head and repeat it like Rainman, "I'm a very good driver..."

you have to have someone to build around, someone like soriano. the return on him would be what, a pitcher who's a year or two away from being in anaheim? what's the point of making a deal like that?

do you trade him for infielders or outfielders? they'd better be guys who are ready/able to start now and contribute right away or else they fall farther behind in the rebuild.

this is not a guy you trade at this point.

It is dumb not to listen to offers that is what is dumb. I do not know what Angels would get for Soriano but I would listen. Who knows what Baltimore would offer or any team.
