Harper has missed over 1/3 of the season due to injury so the chance to challenge Trout's 20 year old season went out the window. Durability and staying off the DL for both of these guys will be the key to their future. I don't think Harper or Trout have come close to what their peaks will be so it is less of what they achieve while still learning, than what they become after three or four years in the league.

Harper hasnt even earned an all-star appearance yet. The fact that he was voted to start over Cutch and Gomez and Cuddyer is a complete joke. He shouldn't even be on the roster. These guys will continue to be compared into their late 30s, maybe beyond and there will always be the "They each are a # time allstar". Anyway, Harper will earn his in the end.

Honestly, Trout won't win MVP unless Cabrera cools off and Davis at least drops his plate discipline and ends up being a slightly better version of Adam Dunn again. Trout needs to hit .360+ from here on out to end up with a .340 BA, and at least a .420 OBP. If Trout played in the NL, he'd have two MVP's under his belt in his first two seasons in the majors.

BETTER than Puig's numbers and nearly on par with Hanley's aside from 4 fewer homers. It really is nuts to think he gets nearly no attention while bettering his rookie campaign.
