Playing this softer part of the schedule reminds me of what it's like around most of the world with soccer. You have different divisions. First division are the best teams who only play each other. The worst two are demoted the next season to the second division. 

The next level is the second division where the top couple of teams are promoted to the first division and the worst are demoted to the third division. And so on till you reach the semi-amateur bottom.

Money, location, tradition and so on factor in big time. 

And it's fun sometimes for one of the British tournaments where teams from all divisions randomly draw to play any other team. Usually some major upsets in some games. 

Anyways, it's almost like the Angels are in a mix of playing mostly second division teams. Where they have more success against their peers. Being the best of a bad group doesn't prove a lot, but it does boost morale and helps the fans get some enjoyment. Until they face the good teams again.

This is another moronic rule.  The Angels weren't even attempting to throw out the guy who missed home, so Alvarez touching him and telling him to go back to tap home didn't change the outcome of the play.  I get the intent of the rule, but it's just a case of the application of it being kinda silly.

Anyone here that's watched baseball since the 70's, 80's or even 60's seen that happen? I've never seen that happen on an MLB, NCAA or an independent baseball field before.
